Instructions to change your local access number on the following operating systems can be viewed by selecting a version below.

1) Click on my computer on the desktop.
2) Click on control panel in my computer.
3) Click on dialup networking in my computer.
4) You should have more than 1 icon. Right click on your dialer. "Ex: myinternet.net"
5) Left click on properties. The mycreditunion.net properties window will appear.
6) Backspace the phone number out if it is not found in the list of new numbers.
7) Type in the new number.
8) Click ok at the bottom of the window.
9) Try connecting.
Note: Members may incur phone charges for the use of access numbers depending on their location and calling plan. The access number locations may not correspond to your phone company's billing designations for local calls and therefore you need to contact your phone company to make sure that the actual number you have selected is not a long distance or toll call for your calling plan.

Important--New Security Enhancement to Virtual Branch

On 06/20/13, we will upgrade Enhanced Authentication.  Beginning on 06/20/13, the image that currently appears above the Security Code will no longer be displayed.  After you log on, you will be prompted to re-enroll in Enhanced Authentication by selecting new security questions and a Security Phrase.  After enrollment, when you logon, this phrase will display in the same place as the previous image.  For addtitional details about the change, CLICK HERE

UTELFCU would like to remind you that we are in partnership with AlertMe, a credit-monitoring service designed to help members fight identity theft which is a growing problem that affects millions of Americans.  AlertMe gives early warning of activity on your credit report.  Since credit report activity can be a sign of possibile identity theft, early detection can help you catch problems quickly to minimize losses.

AlertMe monitors your Experian credit file daily.  New accounts, credit cards over the credit limit, and address changes are just a few of the items AlertMe monitors.  If an activity occurs, AlertMe will send you an email alerting you to the activity.  You can log into the AlertMe website to read details about the activity and determine if it is suspicious.  AlertMe will also send an email to remind you to order your annual free credit reports!

  HOW TO PROTECT YOUR ACCOUNTS...AWARENESS IS THE KEY

We will NEVER tell you via phone, text, or email that your card has been de-activated and for you to call a phone number or link to a website to re-activate it.  These scams are looking for you to enter your 16 digit card number, PIN and CVV2/CVC2 code on the back of the card.

EMAIL PHISHING is an email message that asks you to click on a link, which then takes you to a website and then asks you to enter your card information.

LAND LINE TELEPHONE “VISHING” Vishing, (Voice phISHING) is the voice counterpart to phishing. Rather than being directed by e-mail to a Web site, an e-mail message asks the user to make a telephone call. The call triggers a voice response system that asks for the user's card number or other personal or financial information. The initial bait can also be a telephone call with a recording that instructs the user to phone an 800 number or another area code within or outside of the United States. Because people are used to entering card numbers over the phone, this technique can be effective.

TEXT MESSAGE “SMISHING” Smishing (SMS phISHING) is the mobile phone counterpart to phishing. Rather than being directed by e-mail to a Web site, a text message is sent to the user's cell phone or other mobile device with some ploy to click on a link. The link causes a Trojan to be installed in the cell phone or other mobile device.

The Credit Union will NEVER ask you for personal information via text message, email or unsolicited phone calls.  If you have any doubt about who is on the phone, call the Credit Union directly or the phone number on your credit or debit card.  24/7 toll-free numbers can also be found on your credit card statement.  Never open an unsolicited email or text message.  Monitor your accounts on a regular basis.  If you have not signed up for online banking, now is a perfect time.  Immediately report any suspicious activity  or phishing attempts to us as soon as possible so we can alert the proper authorities.
